My path to becoming an Acupuncturist has been a diverse and enriching one. Along the way, I’ve worn many hats, from being a passionate saxophone player to founding and running companies in the bicycle industry. I’ve delved into the worlds of finance and accounting management in both business and non-profit sectors. However, it was my eventual journey to Toronto that led me to the profound practice of Acupuncture and Biofield Tuning.

For me, it’s a profound honor and privilege to be able to do something that not only fills me with immense joy but also allows me to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Every day, I am inspired by the transformative healing experiences my clients enjoy. what are the signs of stress?

Stress can manifest in various ways, often hidden beneath the surface of our daily lives. Major life events, such as a child’s hospitalization after a sports accident, a parent’s unfamiliar diagnosis, or impending layoffs at work, can undoubtedly create significant stressors. However, stress wears many masks, and we encounter it in subtler forms too.

In our society, it’s common to wear different masks in different situations, including at the workplace. Suppressing natural reactions, a practice prevalent in many workplaces, can contribute to stress. Unfortunately, our culture often discourages the open expression of emotions, leaving many people unaware of the stress their bodies process throughout the day.

When we stifle emotional expression, we inadvertently disconnect from our own responses. From a young age, we absorb the message that we should internalize our feelings or bury them deep within. This behavior becomes so ingrained in our culture that we must actively unlearn it. While we’re not suggesting throwing temper tantrums in public, it’s crucial to cultivate awareness of these hidden stressors because they can indeed impact our well-being.

Once my clients are more aware of stress’s impact on their health, they have the right to make better choices about what they will tolerate in their lives.

After that is in place, identifying the best foods for their physiology, which may not be the foods they crave when their stressed, is the second step in creating health. But more than that is how we eat. We talk about these things every time we’re together in a treatment, in addition to the third major puzzle piece of thriving health, because without unearthing and changing these every day choices, our treatments will just be servicing bad choices. That can take the form of working for a toxic boss, staying in a toxic industry, or allowing people with toxic emotional habits (who won’t get help) to stay in the inner circle.
